In a significant operation, Queensland Police have apprehended two men on multiple weapons and drug charges following a vehicle intercept at Boyne Island on Sunday, July 27. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. when officers stopped an unregistered grey Landrover Freelander on Beltana Drive.

Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered two rifles, a privately made handgun, and a variety of illicit substances, including methylamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis, MDMA, and GHB. This discovery led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man from Heritage Park and a 37-year-old man from Benaraby.

The Heritage Park man faces several charges, including five counts of possessing dangerous drugs, three counts of unlawful possession of weapons, and other related offences. Meanwhile, the Benaraby man has been charged with four counts of possessing dangerous drugs, three counts of unlawful possession of weapons, and additional charges, including obstructing a police officer.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear before the Gladstone Magistrates Court on July 28. Authorities have urged anyone with further information to contact Policelink or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
