In a series of diplomatic engagements, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reinforced the country’s global relations and commitment to anti-corruption. On July 23, 2025, Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, met with Piero Fassino, an Italian deputy and rapporteur for the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), to discuss Ukraine’s ongoing prominence in PACE agendas.

Later that day, President Zelenskyy met with Gideon Sa’ar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, in Kyiv. The meeting underscored the strengthening of bilateral ties between Ukraine and Israel, focusing on mutual interests and cooperation.

In a significant domestic move, President Zelenskyy announced his intent to propose a legislative bill aimed at bolstering the independence of Ukraine’s anti-corruption institutions. This proposal, slated for the Verkhovna Rada, is designed to fortify the nation’s rule of law and eliminate any foreign interference, particularly from Russia, in law enforcement activities. These steps highlight Ukraine’s strategic focus on reinforcing its international alliances and internal governance.
