In a powerful address to the Verkhovna Rada, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine’s determination and resilience as the country marked the 1,240th day of its full-scale war with Russia. Speaking to parliamentarians and government officials, Zelenskyy outlined Ukraine’s progress in maintaining control over national institutions and expanding domestic weapons production, despite the ongoing conflict.

President Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of Ukraine’s global alliances, noting the country has secured EU candidate status and initiated accession negotiations. Highlighting new defense cooperation models, such as the Danish model, Zelenskyy announced large-scale foreign investments in Ukrainian defense production, amounting to billions of dollars.

The President detailed internal governmental reforms aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. He expressed ambitions to increase the proportion of Ukrainian-made weapons from 40% to 50% within six months. Zelenskyy called for maximum deregulation, social engagement, and justice to boost Ukraine’s economic potential, alongside new diplomatic strategies with the United States to bolster defense relations.

Zelenskyy proposed Yuliia Svyrydenko as the new Prime Minister to lead these initiatives, urging Parliament to support her appointment and other key governmental roles. The President concluded by thanking those dedicated to Ukraine’s sovereignty and emphasizing the need for continued global support. “Glory to Ukraine!” Zelenskyy declared, reaffirming the nation’s resolve to achieve a just peace.
