In a series of swift actions by the Queensland Police, a 32-year-old man from Palmwoods has been charged with multiple offences following an armed robbery spree across Maryborough and the Sunshine Coast. The incidents occurred on the evening of July 12, 2025, prompting an intensive police investigation.

According to police reports, the suspect allegedly approached a man with a bladed weapon outside a business on Alice Street in Maryborough around 9pm, demanding the keys to a Toyota Hilux and subsequently stealing the vehicle. Later that night, at approximately 11pm, the man reportedly entered a residence on Maroochy Circuit in Yandina. There, he threatened the occupants with a bladed weapon, demanded keys to a Volkswagen Golf, and made off with the vehicle.

The dramatic sequence of events continued as Polair tracked the Volkswagen being driven dangerously southbound on the Bruce Highway, passing through Caboolture, Burpengary, and Deception Bay. The pursuit culminated in the suspect’s arrest at a Palmwoods property on July 13, thanks to the coordinated efforts of police and specialist officers.

Both stolen vehicles have been recovered; the Toyota was found at the Yandina address and the Volkswagen at the Palmwoods location. The man has been charged with armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and dangerous operation of a vehicle. He remains in custody, awaiting his next court appearance at Maroochydore Magistrates Court on September 8.
