Man Charged in Chatsworth Tragedy

In a tragic development, Queensland Police have charged a 42-year-old man with manslaughter following the drowning death of a 7-month-old boy in Chatsworth. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 12, when emergency services responded to a call at a park off Gympie Curra Road at approximately 10:40 am. The infant was found unresponsive and, despite efforts to save him, was declared deceased later that night at the hospital.

The man, who is known to the child, was arrested in Bundamba today. Police have classified the charge as manslaughter under domestic violence circumstances. He is scheduled to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 16.
