European Parliament co-rapporteurs Siegfried Mureşan and Carla Tavares are set to hold a press conference on Tuesday, 15 July, to discuss the expectations and priorities for the European Union’s post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). The briefing will take place at 09.30 CET in the Anna Politkovskaya press conference room in Brussels, ahead of the European Commission’s budget proposal, which is scheduled for release the following day. The press conference will provide insights into Parliament’s stance on the upcoming long-term budget, emphasizing the need for a more ambitious financial plan to address future security challenges and enhance Europe’s global competitiveness. The discussion will also highlight the importance of maintaining support for the EU’s regional and rural communities. Mureşan and Tavares, representing the European People’s Party and the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, respectively, will lead the briefing.
