In a swift response, Queensland Police have arrested a 23-year-old man following a stabbing incident at a Springfield Central shopping centre on the afternoon of July 12. The altercation, which involved two men, resulted in a 57-year-old Ripley resident being stabbed in the stomach. Police were alerted to the incident just before 4:40 PM and promptly arrived at the scene on Main Street. The injured man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he is currently in a stable condition. Following a brief investigation, authorities located the suspect at a Springfield Lakes residence. The individual has been charged with one count of unlawful wounding and is scheduled to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 14.
