In a strategic move to bolster bilateral relations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama engaged in a phone conversation on July 11, 2025. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in various sectors, with particular emphasis on the agro-industrial field and advanced technologies.

During the call, both leaders agreed on organizing a ministerial-level meeting to advance practical cooperation. A Ukrainian delegation is set to visit Ghana soon, as part of an initiative to construct a logistics hub for food storage, a project President Zelenskyy is eager to implement.

The conversation also highlighted the potential for collaboration in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Ghana has shown interest in acquiring Ukrainian UAVs to improve border security against threats from the Sahel region. President Zelenskyy expressed Ukraine’s willingness to support Ghana in strengthening its surveillance capabilities.

In a gesture of goodwill, President Zelenskyy thanked President Mahama for extending an invitation to visit Ghana and reciprocated with an invitation for Mahama to visit Ukraine. The two Presidents are set to meet in the near future to further solidify their partnership.
