Europol has signed a significant Working Arrangement with the Public Security Directorate (PSD) of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, aiming to bolster cooperation against serious and organized crime. This collaborative effort, formalized on July 10, 2025, aims to enhance security measures across the European Union, the Middle East, and globally. The new framework establishes a legal basis for the exchange of non-personal data and information between Europol and Jordanian law enforcement authorities. Key areas of focus include tackling migrant smuggling, drug trafficking, money laundering, and firearms trafficking. Additionally, the arrangement provides for sharing specialist knowledge, strategic analysis, and participation in joint training activities. This partnership marks a crucial step in addressing common security threats. The PSD will appoint a national contact point to facilitate collaboration, and a Jordanian liaison officer will be deployed to Europol, joining a global community of law enforcement representatives. Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle highlighted the mutual trust and understanding that underpin this new alliance, which strengthens security efforts in both the EU and the broader Middle East region.
