Detectives from the Taskforce Maxima South Eastern Region have successfully charged two men associated with the notorious Mongrel Mob following a targeted operation in Loganlea. The arrests come after a search warrant was executed, leading to the seizure of firearms, gang clothing, and other paraphernalia. The two men, aged 27 and 44, face charges of recruiting individuals to participate in a criminal organization and unlawful possession of firearms. They are scheduled to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today, as the Queensland Police Service intensifies efforts to combat organised crime in the region. Detective Inspector Craig Bowman of the Organised Crime Gangs Group emphasized the ongoing commitment to dismantling criminal networks. “We are aware of the attempts by some groups to recruit and expand, and we are actively targeting these groups to prevent their actions impacting the safety of the community,” he stated. The Queensland Police Service encourages the public to report any suspicious activity to Policelink or Crime Stoppers, as part of a broader initiative to ensure community safety and disrupt criminal enterprises.
