Detectives from the Redcliffe Criminal Investigation Branch are calling for public assistance following a violent altercation in Deception Bay on June 28. The incident, which occurred on Bailey Road shortly after 6 PM, involved a group allegedly armed and engaged in a fight. As a result of the disturbance, a 33-year-old man was treated at Redcliffe Hospital, while a 54-year-old man required surgery at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital. Following the incident, a 20-year-old man from Deception Bay was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing utensils. He is set to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on July 23. Additionally, a 33-year-old man has been charged with acts intended to maim, disfigure, or disable and is scheduled to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on August 22. Authorities are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from Bailey Road between 6 PM and 6:30 PM to come forward.
