The crash involved a blue Hyundai Getz and a Western Star truck towing timber on the Bruce Highway, near the intersection with Alma Street. The incident occurred shortly after midday when the Hyundai, driven by a 54-year-old woman from Maroochydore, collided with the truck. The woman was transported to Maryborough Hospital for treatment, while the 52-year-old truck driver from Southside was unharmed. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the Hyundai prior to the accident to come forward. The Forensic Crash Unit’s investigation is ongoing, and they are keen to gather more information to assist in their inquiries.
