In an early morning operation, Queensland Police officers intercepted a vehicle in Cairns, leading to the arrest of a 41-year-old man on multiple charges. The man, driving a Holden Commodore, was stopped on Hartley Street around 4 am and tested positive for drugs during a roadside test. Upon further investigation, officers discovered an alarming array of items inside the vehicle, including 16 knives, an axe, cannabis, and suspected stolen jewelry. Additionally, a lighter designed to resemble a firearm was found. The driver, identified as a resident from Holloways Beach, was charged with possessing dangerous drugs, carrying knives in a public place, driving without a license, operating a vehicle with drugs in his system, and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property. The suspect was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later today.
