In a swift response to an afternoon altercation in Nambour, Queensland, police have charged a local man with serious offenses. The incident occurred on June 24, prompting emergency services to rush to a Currie Street venue following reports of a stabbing.

Authorities allege that a 41-year-old man from Nambour was involved in the altercation before fleeing the scene. He was apprehended without incident approximately an hour later in Petrie Park. The suspect now faces charges of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public space. He is scheduled to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on June 25.

The altercation resulted in a 33-year-old Charleville man being transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police indicate that the two men involved are known to each other, and investigations into the incident are continuing.
