In a serious case of domestic violence, Queensland Police have charged an 86-year-old man from Bracken Ridge with attempted murder following an incident in Ipswich on June 23. The man allegedly attempted to strangle a 33-year-old woman, who is known to him, at a residence in Eastern Heights.

The altercation reportedly occurred at approximately 6:30 PM when a neighbor heard the disturbance and intervened, subsequently alerting the police. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and apprehended the suspect without further incident.

The victim, a resident of Eastern Heights, sustained no visible injuries from the attack. The accused is set to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on June 24 to face charges of attempted murder in a domestic violence context.
