Brussels is gearing up for a significant week of parliamentary activity as the European Parliament’s plenary session is set to tackle a range of pressing issues. A press briefing is scheduled for Friday, June 13, at 11:00 AM in the Anna Politkovskaya press room, where spokespersons for Parliament and political groups will outline the key topics of the session running from June 16-19.

Among the major agenda items is a debate on the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague, scheduled for June 24-26, which promises to shape discussions on security and defense strategies. Additionally, the plenary will address the urgent humanitarian crisis in Gaza and deliberate on the EU-Israel Association Agreement.

Other significant discussions include updates on legislation concerning child sexual abuse crimes, the freedom of assembly in Hungary, and the Clean Industrial Deal. The session will also see a vote on the EU’s inaugural rules on dog and cat welfare, along with debates on the revision of air passenger rights and the plight of illegally detained Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war.

Highlighting the plenary’s importance, King Abdullah of Jordan will deliver an address during a formal sitting. Journalists can participate in the press briefing via Interactio, with interpretation available in English and French.
