In a significant traffic violation case, a 40-year-old man from Park Avenue has been charged with the dangerous operation of a vehicle after being caught traveling 157 kilometers per hour over the speed limit in Rockhampton, Queensland. The incident occurred on April 19, when police officers conducting mobile patrols observed a white Suzuki motorcycle speeding at 257 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone on Yeppoon Road.

The motorcyclist allegedly failed to stop at police direction, leading to further investigation. Authorities were able to identify the rider and the motorcycle, resulting in charges being filed on May 30.

The accused has been fined $1854, incurred a loss of 8 demerit points, and faces a six-month license suspension. He is scheduled to appear before the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 30 to address the charges.
