STRASBOURG — The European Youth Event (EYE2025) is set to welcome around 8,500 young participants from across the globe to Strasbourg on June 13-14. The event, hosted by the European Parliament, aims to celebrate and discuss the future of democracy in Europe through more than 450 activities, including debates, workshops, and artistic performances.

The gathering will feature discussions on vital topics such as climate justice, skills for the future, media freedom, and the EU’s next long-term budget. Notable speakers include European Parliament Vice-president Sabine Verheyen, who will open the event, and Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport Glenn Micallef, who will lead a dialogue on youth policy.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), experts, and activists in panel discussions, while workshops will cover pressing issues like disinformation, housing, and migration. The event will also host a press briefing on media freedom, underscoring the importance of free speech in the EU.

For those unable to attend in person, all sessions in the hemicycle will be streamed live, making the event accessible to a wider audience. EYE2025 promises to be a pivotal platform for young people to voice their opinions and contribute to shaping the future of Europe.
