Samsung Electronics has announced the global expansion of its Sleep Apnea feature on the Galaxy Watch series, now available in 70 markets including 34 European countries, Australia, and Singapore. This expansion follows the feature’s CE marking in the European Economic Area, confirming compliance with EU health, safety, and environmental standards. The Sleep Apnea feature, integrated into the Samsung Health Monitor app, allows users of the Galaxy Watch series to detect signs of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. This advancement comes after receiving De Novo authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, a first for wearables in this category, and approvals from various international health regulatory agencies. Samsung’s commitment to enhancing sleep health is evident in its efforts to provide users with personalized sleep insights and recommendations. By expanding the availability of this feature, Samsung empowers users worldwide to proactively manage their sleep health, potentially mitigating associated health risks such as hypertension and cardiac disorders.
