In a heartfelt ceremony held yesterday, the Queensland Police Service (QPS) recognized the exceptional dedication of 49 officers and two police dogs for their unwavering commitment to the Moreton community’s safety. The event highlighted the exemplary service of QPS members across various commands and divisions.

Among the honorees, 18 officers received National Level Awards, with nine awarded the National Police Service Medal for their ethical and diligent service. State Level medals recognized 24 officers for their long-standing service, including Senior Constable Andrew Donohue and Senior Sergeant Donald Schouten, both recipients of the 40-year Clasp. Senior Sergeants Schouten and John Fowles were notably awarded the Exemplary Conduct Medal with Leadership Clasp.

The ceremony also honored the contributions of retired Sergeant Andrew McAlister, who received the 35-year Clasp for his service in intelligence across North Brisbane and Moreton Districts. Special commendations were given to Sergeant Michelle Goodman, Constable Peter Nixon, and community service awardees from the Redcliffe Zonta Club.

Police Dogs Gator and retired Lugar were awarded the prestigious Queensland Police Canine Service Medallion, recognizing their operational commitment and loyalty. Moreton Assistant District Officer, Acting Superintendent Craig White, praised the recipients for their dedication to the community, highlighting the QPS’s collective appreciation for their critical role in maintaining Queensland’s safety.

Acting Superintendent White remarked, “These awards represent the steadfast commitment of our officers to protect and serve the community, inspiring all within the QPS with their professionalism and dedication.”
