Last month, officers from the Townsville Domestic, Family Violence and Vulnerable Persons Unit (DFV&VPU) went to New South Wales to extradite a man accused of domestic violence offenses. The 29-year-old man was arrested in Parramatta under a warrant and brought back to Townsville. He faces charges including contravention of domestic violence orders, unlawful stalking, distributing intimate images, and other related offenses. The man appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on May 29 and was remanded in custody until his next court date on July 4. Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Andy Alce emphasized the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions to prevent domestic violence. He highlighted the role of the community in working together to combat domestic violence. For those experiencing domestic and family violence, support and counseling services are available through DVConnect Womensline, DVConnect Mensline, 1800 RESPECT, and 13YARN. The Queensland Government Domestic and Family Violence portal also provides additional information for those in need. Authorities urge individuals to report instances of domestic violence to the police and seek help from the available support services. Emergency assistance can be accessed by calling 000, while Policelink and Crime Stoppers are also available for reporting incidents. The Queensland Police Service stresses the importance of community involvement in addressing domestic violence and protecting victim-survivors. The efforts to combat domestic violence require a collective approach from all members of society. Post navigation Handover of Equipment Program in Roma Robbery in Surfers Paradise
