Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, recently appeared as a guest on the final episode of the podcast “In Simple Terms,” where she discussed mental health during wartime. The podcast is part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “How Are You?” and has been a crucial platform in changing attitudes towards mental health in the country. During the podcast, Zelenska highlighted the positive impact of the program, noting that since its inception in 2022, the number of Ukrainians unwilling to seek help from psychologists has decreased significantly. She emphasized the importance of seeking support for mental well-being and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health care. Zelenska also shared personal insights on how she maintains her strength and inner resources, underscoring the significance of caring for one’s mental health. “In Simple Terms” podcast, hosted by journalist Mark Livin and clinical psychologist Sofiya Terlez, has reached 9 million Ukrainians through 52 episodes. The project was a collaborative effort with the Coordination Center for Mental Health under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and received support from the WHO.
