Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, engaged in high-level discussions with German leaders during a series of meetings in Berlin. The talks, held on 28 May 2025, focused on crucial matters such as defense support for Ukraine, diplomatic efforts to bring peace, and increasing pressure on Russia. Zelenskyy and Chancellor Friedrich Merz emphasized the importance of establishing a just and lasting peace and intensifying sanctions on Russia within the Coalition of the Willing.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy highlighted the significance of agreements with Germany on air defense and discussed opportunities for strengthening air defense capabilities and investing in Ukrainian drone production. Additionally, the President met with representatives of the German business community to express gratitude for their continued operations in Ukraine during the ongoing conflict. He called for increased economic support and encouraged German businesses to expand their presence in the country through investment projects.

Zelenskyy also met with Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to discuss regional cooperation and support for Ukrainians. The discussions emphasized the need for solidarity and assistance in the face of Russian aggression. Furthermore, the President engaged in an online meeting with heads of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions in G7 countries to prepare for the upcoming G7 Summit in Canada. The meetings underscored the importance of international cooperation in addressing the challenges faced by Ukraine.
