Toowoomba is gearing up for an exciting Community Safety and Career Expo hosted by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) at Toowoomba TAFE Oval on Saturday, May 31. The event, which will run from 9am to midday, aims to provide the public with a unique opportunity to engage with local police and partner agencies, learn about community safety initiatives, and explore career pathways in policing and emergency services.

Attendees can expect to interact with state-of-the-art equipment and vehicles, witness interactive displays from specialist police units, and participate in informative seminars on safety and careers. Darling Downs District Officer, Superintendent Douglas McDonald, emphasized the significance of the expo, highlighting the diverse roles within the Queensland Police Service and the chance for visitors to gain insights into the work of various specialist units.

The expo, which was well-received in 2024 with attendees traveling from as far as Warwick and the Gold Coast, promises a fun and educational experience for all. From engaging with police recruits to learning about personal safety both at home and in the community, there will be activities suited for those considering a career change or simply seeking an informative day out.

The event will also feature teams from QPS Highway Patrol, Mounted Unit, Queensland Ambulance Service, State Emergency Service (SES), and other emergency service personnel in action. Those interested in attending the Toowoomba Community Safety and Career Expo can register via Eventbrite. Whether aspiring to join the Queensland Police Service or looking for a family-friendly outing, this event offers something for everyone to enjoy and learn from.
