A 50-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences related to copper theft in Deeragun as part of Operation Whiskey Biome. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 25, when two men allegedly attempted to steal copper from a building under construction in a shopping center on Palm Drive.

According to Queensland Police, the man was arrested on the roof of the building around 10:15 pm. He is facing charges including entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offense, possessing items intended for use in connection with an offense, and wearing a face mask with intent to commit an indictable offense. The suspect has been remanded in custody and is set to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on July 4.
