Detectives from the Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) Far North have made significant progress in Operation Xray Gaston by charging five more individuals with drug-related offenses. The operation, aimed at detecting, deterring, and disrupting the illegal drug trade in the Cairns area, continues to target criminal activities in the region.

Under the leadership of Detective Senior Sergeant Brad Grace, the Major and Organised Crime Squad Far North is committed to tackling the negative impact of drug-related activities on the community. Sergeant Grace emphasized the importance of public cooperation in providing information to aid law enforcement in combating this societal issue.

Among those arrested, a 46-year-old man from Earlville faces multiple charges, including supply and trafficking of dangerous drugs. Similarly, a 25-year-old Cairns woman and a 71-year-old Edge Hill man have been charged with drug-related offenses. Additionally, a 39-year-old woman from Manunda is also facing charges in connection to possessing dangerous drugs.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on various dates in June. The Queensland Police Service encourages individuals with relevant information to come forward and assist in the ongoing efforts to address illegal drug activities in the region.
