A 13-year-old boy has been apprehended by authorities following an investigation into an alleged assault and stolen vehicle incident in the suburb of Pimlico, Townsville. The incident occurred on the evening of May 23, where four unidentified individuals reportedly assaulted a woman in her 50s at a shopping center car park on Woolcock Street.

After the assault, the perpetrators stole the woman’s white Subaru XV and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The victim sustained facial bruising and lacerations as a result of the attack. The stolen vehicle was later discovered on Ninth Avenue, Railway Estate the following morning.

The teenage suspect has been charged with unlawful entry of a motor vehicle to commit an indictable offense, as well as unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Additionally, he faces property crime charges related to other alleged incidents. The individual has been detained in police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Townsville Children’s Court on May 26.
