On the Day of Ukraine’s Marine Corps, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored the Ukrainian Marines for their unwavering bravery and sacrifice in the face of adversity. During the ceremony, President Zelenskyy awarded the highest state honors to the marines and their families, recognizing their courage in defending the country. The President commended the marines for their commitment to fighting in the most challenging situations, including battles in various regions of Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy expressed his pride in the distinguished 35th, 36th, 37th, and 38th Separate Marine Brigades, along with all units of the 30th Marine Corps. He highlighted the exceptional bravery of the marines, with 30 individuals already awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and hundreds more receiving state honors for their valor on the battlefield. The President emphasized the importance of honoring the sacrifices made for Ukraine’s independence.

During the ceremony, President Zelenskyy presented the highest state awards, including the Orders of the Golden Star, to two Heroes of Ukraine. Private Denys Kucherenko was recognized for his actions in the Kherson region, while Captain Yevhenii Shablo was honored for his bravery in various combat operations. Additionally, three marines received the “Cross of Military Merit” awards for their exceptional service and leadership.

The President also bestowed battle flags and honorary distinctions to the commanders of various marine brigades and divisions, acknowledging their dedication to protecting Ukraine. The ceremony concluded with a moment of silence to honor the fallen heroes, reminding everyone of the sacrifices made in defense of the country.
