Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the nation regarding the ongoing Russian assault operations in the country. He emphasized that Ukrainian forces are maintaining necessary combat activity amidst intense fighting, particularly in the Donetsk region. Since the start of the Kursk operation, the Russian army has suffered significant losses, with over 63,000 casualties in that area alone.

President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to those supporting Ukraine and highlighted the valor of various military units, including the 14th Brigade of the National Guard, the 36th Marine Brigade, the 25th Assault Battalion, and the 1st Assault Regiment. The Defense Minister also reported on cooperation with partners for new arms supplies and efforts to attract investment into domestic production to enhance long-term security.

The President mentioned international calls with leaders such as the President of the European Council and the NATO Secretary General, focusing on diplomatic efforts and possible formats for joint work. Additionally, preparations for negotiations regarding Ukraine’s accession and ongoing efforts to secure the release of all Ukrainian detainees were discussed. President Zelenskyy reiterated the importance of pressure on Russia through various means, including sanctions, to bring an end to the conflict.

Despite the continued Russian assault operations and lack of signals for a ceasefire, Ukraine remains resolute in its defense and efforts to protect its communities. The President called for unity and solidarity in the face of ongoing challenges, reaffirming the commitment to securing Ukraine’s sovereignty and freedom.
