Detectives from the Rockhampton Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have charged a 23-year-old man in connection to a shooting incident that occurred on May 11. The incident took place at a venue on Cambridge Street where the man allegedly fired a single shot from a firearm towards a 36-year-old man.

According to reports, the 23-year-old man entered the venue around 7pm and later followed the older man as he exited and walked across the road. Fortunately, the 36-year-old man was uninjured, but a nearby parked car was damaged by a projectile.

The suspect fled the scene in a white Toyota Hilux, but was later arrested in Alberton on May 17. He has been charged with various offenses including acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful possession of weapons, and drug-related charges. The man was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in court on May 19.
