Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Olena Kovalska, led a ceremony in Kyiv commemorating the victims of the Crimean Tatar Genocide. The event, held on May 18, 2025, paid tribute to those who perished as a result of the Soviet regime’s deportation from Crimea in 1944. In attendance were various dignitaries including Presidential Representative of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Olha Kuryshko, Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Mykola Tochytskyi, and leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev.
