In a recent meeting in Rome, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held discussions with President of Switzerland Karin Keller‑Sutter regarding the next diplomatic steps towards peace. Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude for Switzerland’s support of Ukraine and its peace efforts, particularly highlighting the humanitarian aid provided, such as shelters for schools and children.

During the meeting, the leaders focused on key issues including securing a ceasefire, sustaining support for Ukraine, increasing pressure on Russia, humanitarian demining efforts, implementing school meals programs, and ensuring food security measures. Zelenskyy also provided an update on negotiations in Istanbul, emphasizing the importance of coordination with the United States and unity to pressure Russia for a full and unconditional ceasefire.

Special attention was given to continued assistance to Ukraine, with discussions on funding Swiss companies’ participation in the country’s reconstruction efforts.
