An international conference titled “Deported Ukrainian Children: Europe’s Actions” took place in Helsinki, focusing on the joint efforts of European countries to bring back children deported by Russia. The event was organized by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in collaboration with the Parliament of Finland and was held under the patronage of Finland’s First Lady, Suzanne Innes-Stubb. The conference was attended by representatives from European parliamentary assemblies, international organizations, human rights groups, and Ukrainian government bodies. The Bring Kids Back UA initiative, initiated by the President of Ukraine, was also prominently featured, with Dariia Zarivna, the initiative’s Chief Operating Officer, delivering a speech highlighting the crimes committed by Russia against Ukrainian children and outlining the necessary steps for their return and reintegration.
