Samsung Electronics has organized the annual Accessibility Festival Week (AFW) in Europe to promote and advance accessibility for all individuals, including those with disabilities, older adults, and temporary physical limitations. The event, now in its third year, is being held at Samsung Electronics UK from May 13 to 15, showcasing accessible products and services designed to provide inclusive experiences. The AFW is a collaborative effort between various Samsung entities, including the CDO at Samsung Electronics Corporation, Samsung Electronics Europe Office, and Samsung Design Europe.

The event kicked off with an Inspiration Tour on May 13, where accessibility leaders explored exemplary accessibility practices in Europe. Participants visited Samsung KX in London to observe inclusive retail practices and engaged with solutions at Google’s Accessibility Discovery Center. The AFW also included a cross-functional accessibility symposium where employees from different departments shared strategies for embedding accessibility into their work.

On the final day of the event, to mark Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Samsung hosted a special session to share its accessibility strategy and future vision for inclusive innovation. The event featured keynotes from company executives emphasizing the importance of accessibility in advancing Samsung’s global vision. Additionally, a hands-on workshop was conducted to explore inclusive design thinking with experts from Studio Exception, a consultancy focused on inclusive design.

The AFW aims to foster a culture of inclusive innovation within Samsung, highlighting the significance of accessibility as a strategic imperative for future competitiveness. By prioritizing accessibility and customer-first innovation, Samsung hopes to deliver better experiences for all individuals and create a more inclusive future.
