Police have arrested a 36-year-old woman in connection to a tragic fatal house fire in Harristown, Queensland. The incident, which occurred on May 7, resulted in the deaths of three children and serious injuries to others. According to reports, emergency services responded to the Merritt Street property around 12:30 am to find the house engulfed in flames. A 9-year-old boy was found deceased inside the property. Tragically, a 4-year-old girl and a 7-year-old girl succumbed to their injuries at the Queensland Children’s Hospital later that day. Three individuals, a 34-year-old man, an 18-year-old man, and an 11-year-old boy, managed to escape the fire. The 34-year-old man underwent surgery for severe arm injuries, while the other two were treated for minor injuries. After an extensive investigation involving multiple units within the Queensland Police Service, the 36-year-old woman has been charged with multiple offenses, including three counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder, and one count of arson.
