Police in Townsville are seeking the public’s help in locating a man who escaped from the Townsville Correctional Centre on the night of May 7. The individual identified as 21-year-old Johnathon Barry, described as First Nations in appearance with distinctive features, including a left ear piercing and a tattoo on his left arm. Authorities had initially reported a second individual escaping as well, a 35-year-old man, who has since been apprehended.

Law enforcement officials believe the escaped 21-year-old may still be in the Townsville area. The public has been advised not to approach him if spotted but to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to quote reference number QP2500783181.
