In a swift operation, Queensland Police arrested a 37-year-old man in Buderim on June 28, after he was found in possession of dangerous weapons and drugs. The Loganlea resident, who is considered a high-risk offender, faces multiple charges and is set to appear in court. The arrest followed reports around 4:40pm of an armed man making threats near a King Street address. Responding officers quickly established a perimeter and intercepted the suspect as he attempted to flee in a nearby vehicle. A search of the man’s belongings revealed a homemade firearm, a taser, a meat cleaver, and other prohibited items. He has been charged with unlawful possession of weapons, possession of a knife in public, possessing dangerous drugs, and other related offenses. Refused bail, the accused is scheduled for a court appearance at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on June 30.
