Police in Maroochydore, Queensland are currently investigating multiple incidents involving stolen vehicles and break-ins that occurred on the Sunshine Coast overnight on May 7. The first incident was reported at a business in Beerwah where a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee and a red Toyota Yaris were involved in an attempted theft. A man tried to steal an orange Ford Ranger from the business but was confronted by the owner, leading to a physical altercation. The suspect then fled in the Toyota, crashing it into the Ford before escaping with the Jeep. Shortly after, a break-in was reported at a business in Maroochydore where two individuals used the red Toyota Yaris to drive into the front windows of the establishment. Upon police arrival, the suspects fled the scene and were later picked up by another vehicle. Police found stolen items, knives, and break-in tools in the Toyota, which had been reported stolen the day prior along with the Jeep Cherokee. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are seeking information from the public regarding the incidents.
