Detectives from the Far Northern Major and Organised Crime Squad, working in collaboration with Taskforce Maxima and various Criminal Investigation Branches, have reportedly confiscated drugs and weapons as part of Operation Xray Pitcair.

Launched in April 2025, Operation Xray Pitcair aimed to target members of Organised Motorcycle Gangs (OMCGs) such as the Bandidos and Soldados.

During the execution of nine search warrants on Saturday, May 24, in Cairns, Mena Creek, and Townsville, law enforcement allegedly discovered a quantity of drugs, including methylamphetamine, steroids, and cannabis. Additionally, several weapons such as batons, a rifle magazine, a smoke grenade, and ammunition were reportedly found. A significant amount of OMCG paraphernalia associated with the Bandidos was also seized.

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a fifth individual who allegedly defrauded the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) of over $600,000 between 2023 and 2024. In connection to the operation, a 32-year-old man from Parramatta Park received a drug diversion, while a 51-year-old from Holloways Beach was charged with drug-related offenses and is set to appear in court on June 23. Another individual, a 20-year-old from Manunda, faces drug charges and is scheduled to appear in court on June 10. Finally, a 51-year-old man from Mena Creek was charged with possession of explosives and ammunition-related offenses and is due in court on June 30.
