President Zelenskyy’s Post-Summit Statement

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, delivered a statement following the Bucharest Nine and Nordic Countries Summit, emphasizing the collective efforts to halt the ongoing conflict with Russia and establish lasting peace. Zelenskyy highlighted the success of Operation “Spiderweb” in weakening Russian military capabilities and stressed the importance of technological advancements in modern warfare. Collaborative investments in drone production and shared battlefield experience were commended for bolstering European defense.

During the summit, joint decisions were made to enhance defense strategies, including new investments in Ukraine’s weapons production, particularly drones. Zelenskyy called for unified diplomatic measures, urging for increased sanctions at the G7 level, including the United States, to exert pressure on Russia. Emphasizing the need to limit Russia’s oil trade and tanker usage, Zelenskyy underscored the significance of sanctions in compelling Russia towards peaceful resolutions.

Looking ahead to the upcoming NATO Summit, Zelenskyy cautioned against rewarding aggression and asserted that Russia should receive no benefits from its hostile actions. He emphasized the importance of a united Euro-Atlantic community in sending a clear message to Putin that his aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
