Zelenskyy Reports Gains on Front

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces have liberated more territory since the beginning of autumn than Russian forces have captured during the same period. He made the remarks in an address published on the official presidential website on Oct. 18, 2026.

“Our front is strong,” Zelenskyy said, thanking Ukrainian soldiers and military units for carrying out their assigned tasks. The statement did not provide specific figures or identify the areas involved.

In a separate announcement the same day, Zelenskyy said he held a phone conversation with U.S. presidential envoys Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The presidential website did not disclose details of the discussion.
