NASA will provide an update on plans to return American astronauts to the Moon by 2028 during a briefing Oct. 23 at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT and will be streamed online. The briefing will include NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, Associate Administrator Amit Kshatriya and Artemis Program Manager Jeremy Parsons. Officials are expected to discuss the Artemis III mission and the progress of plans for future lunar landings. Artemis III is slated to send four astronauts into low Earth orbit next year to test systems needed for later missions to the lunar surface. NASA said its broader Artemis program will focus on increasingly complex missions near the Moon’s south pole. U.S. media members who want to attend in person must apply by noon Oct. 16. Reporters seeking to participate remotely must request dial-in information from the Kennedy Space Center newsroom at least one hour before the briefing.
