Two men have been charged with 24 property crime-related offences following alleged break-ins, vehicle thefts and an armed robbery in Belmont and Carindale, Queensland, on September 24.

Queensland Police allege a group broke into a residence on Highland Crescent in Belmont at about 3:30 a.m., stealing a Toyota Camry, a BYD Seal and personal items. The group also allegedly attempted to enter a second home on the same street but was unsuccessful.

About 45 minutes later, the group allegedly entered a home on Holborn Crescent in Carindale and was disturbed by a resident. Police allege one man struck the 20-year-old occupant’s hand with a baseball bat before the group fled in the stolen BYD Seal. The victim sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment.

A 19-year-old Kingston man and a 19-year-old Park Ridge man were arrested following investigations by the Cleveland and Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branches. Both were denied police bail and remanded in custody, with court proceedings scheduled in November and October respectively. Investigations remain ongoing.
