Hurricane Polo Approaches Baja California Peninsula

Hurricane Polo, with an intensity of 100 kt, is forecast to make landfall on the west coast of the Baja California Peninsula near major hurricane strength late today. Conditions are expected to worsen this morning, making further preparations difficult. The National Hurricane Center reports that heavy rainfall could lead to life-threatening flooding and mudslides in Baja California Sur and parts of Sonora.
