Queensland police have charged two people over a shooting in Mount Louisa, Townsville, that left a 28-year-old Bowen woman with a non-life-threatening leg injury. Police said officers and emergency services were called to a house on Rundle Street at about 6:45 a.m. on May 18 after reports of gunshots. Investigators allege a 31-year-old Kirwan man and a 28-year-old Ayr woman attended the property and became involved in an altercation with the victim, who was known to them. The man allegedly produced a firearm and fired several shots before both suspects fled in a vehicle. The injured woman was taken to Townsville University Hospital. The Kirwan man was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, possessing dangerous drugs, and possessing drug utensils or pipes. The Ayr woman was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm. Both were refused bail and were due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on May 22.
