Slavutych Expands Energy and Security Projects

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reviewed progress on energy, security and social infrastructure projects during a visit to Slavutych, according to the president’s official website. The briefing focused on instructions issued during his previous visit to the city.

Shelters equipped with recreation rooms, medical stations and cafeterias have been completed in four schools, officials said. Reconstruction of 43 apartments for internally displaced people has also been finished, while work on another 54 apartments is expected to conclude in August.

An energy hub, scheduled for completion by June, is being developed with European Union funding. The facility will have a generation capacity of 2.2 megawatts through cogeneration units, solar equipment and energy storage systems, and is expected to cover more than 60% of the city’s energy needs.

Officials also reported progress on a 2.5-kilometer barrier-free route and strengthened defense measures, including anti-drone protection. The Slavutych City Hospital’s main building has received a repaired roof, solar panels and batteries, while several public facilities have been reconstructed with international support.
