Two fugitives wanted in connection with serious organized crime offenses have been arrested in separate operations in Türkiye and Spain, Europol announced. One suspect was sought by Germany over an attempted murder, while the other was a senior member of Italy’s Camorra crime group. A 29-year-old Turkish national was arrested in Türkiye in early May 2026. German authorities allege that he helped organize an attempted murder in Ludwigsburg on April 26, 2025. An international arrest warrant had been issued by the Stuttgart District Court, and the suspect’s profile was published on Europol’s EU Most Wanted website shortly before his arrest under Operational Taskforce GRIMM. In a separate operation on May 15, Italian and Spanish authorities arrested a senior member of the Licciardi clan in Alicante. The group is part of the Secondigliano Alliance, a Camorra criminal alliance. The suspect had been wanted since June 2025 under an Italian detention order for aggravated extortion using mafia methods. The investigation involved the Italian State Police, Spain’s National Police, the European Network of Fugitive Active Search Teams and Europol. Europol said its EU Most Wanted platform allows the public to submit anonymous information that may help authorities locate fugitives.
