Police have arrested and charged a 23-year-old man in connection with a traffic crash and armed robbery that took place in Dulacca on the night of May 22. The incident occurred on the Warrego Highway, where a Ford Everest collided with a semi-trailer, leading to a series of dangerous events. According to reports, the man exited the Ford Everest armed with a firearm and proceeded to steal a Ford Courier from a couple who had stopped to assist at the crash site. He then fled towards Miles and Chinchilla. Law enforcement officers successfully deployed tire deflation devices in Chinchilla, bringing the stolen vehicle to a stop. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended with the help of Miles Police Station and the South West Tactical Crime Squad. Upon searching the Ford Everest, authorities discovered two firearms, 254 grams of methamphetamine, and a sum of cash. Thankfully, the individuals involved in the crash, including the truck driver and the occupants of the Ford Courier, were unharmed. The 23-year-old man from Crows Nest was taken into custody and charged with various offenses, including armed robbery, possession of dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons, possession of proceeds of a crime, and drug driving. He was scheduled to appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court for further proceedings.
