Queensland police have charged a 40-year-old man following an alleged assault in Rockhampton on March 22 that left two people requiring medical treatment. Police allege an 18-year-old man was walking with friends along Cambridge Street at about 1:15 a.m. when unknown people approached the group and acted in a threatening manner. The teenager allegedly fled into the yard of a nearby address, where he was followed by a man and struck several times in the head. A 17-year-old boy also sustained injuries and received medical treatment the following day. Detectives arrested a 40-year-old man from The Range on April 2. The man has been charged with two counts of common assault, one count of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed and a further count of assault occasioning bodily harm while in company of another person.
