A 24-year-old Marian man has died and a passenger was critically injured after a vehicle crashed in the Pioneer Valley near Mackay late Wednesday night. Queensland Police said officers were called to Marian Eton Road at about 11:30 p.m. on April 1 after a Toyota LandCruiser left the road, rolled and struck a power pole. The driver died at the scene. The passenger, a 44-year-old man from Eton, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash and is seeking witnesses, CCTV or dashcam footage.
